The D.P.

You can’t say ‘dog park’ at my house.

Well, it’s not that you CAN’T say it.

You just CAN’T say it in front of the ‘GIRLS.’

Orchids and Grandma

I had a wonderful weekend.

I spent the time in San Francisco with my Grandma at the Pacific Orchid Exposition.

Who doesn’t love Grandmas?

And who doesn’t like orchids?

And what about San Francisco???  Grandma and orchids with the Golden Gate Bridge in the City by the Bay… enough said, it doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

Did you know that there are 25,000 orchid hybrids in the wild?  Did you know that orchids are continue reading...

Honor Your Furry Friends!

  • More exercise! Doggies love daily walks, which means continue reading...

Agua, Please!

I love water.  Water is my drink of choice.  I usually don’t order a drink and just enjoy water as my beverage when I eat out.  I probably drink 10-12 glasses of water each day.

I know I’m not the norm when it comes to water consumption…

A lot of people don’t like water.  One of my best friends WON’T drink water.  (I find that stunning…)  Water is SO hydrating; I can’t imagine continue reading...

The Workday Unwind

If the workday leaves you stressed and exhausted, it will carry over into home life. Manage your stress by being self-indulgent; leave work at work and make your home an oasis:

  • Exercise!  Unlock feel-good endorphins with regular physical exertion. Walk around your home neighborhood.  It can be a long walk, it can be a short walk. Just walk, and loosen up your mind and muscles.
  • Entertain yourself!  Don’t continue reading...

Got Good Work Ba-gua?

What does your work desk LOOK like?  More importantly, what does your work desk FEEL like?  Does the energy flow freely at your desk?  How is your work chi?

Feng shui uses ba-gua.  A ba-gua map is a tool used in feng shui to map a room or location and see how the different sections correspond to different aspects in one’s life. These sections are categories like fame, relationships/marriage, children/creativity, helpful continue reading...

Just Floss the Teeth You Want to Keep

I hate to floss my teeth.

Flossing is a chore I despise.

So at my dental appointment last week, I asked my dentist if I REALLY needed to floss my teeth daily.

He said no.

NO???!!!!  I asked again to make sure I heard him correctly.

He repeated no.  “Just floss the teeth that you want to keep.”

Gulp… huh???

“Just floss the teeth that you continue reading...

Pay It Forward

February 13-19 is Random Acts of Kindness Week.  Pay it forward and help both you and someone else.

Random acts of kindness provide endorphin rushes, which lower your stress level, boost your immune system, lower depression rates, and calms anger.

Do something for someone… hold a door open, pick up trash, buy a friend a cup of coffee.  Here are other ideas from The Random Acts of Kindness continue reading...

What is your Real Age?

I opened up an email yesterday morning from RealAge.®

RealAge® is a free online test created by Dr. Oz and Dr Roizen.  These two people have some good things to say about living life well for your mind, body, and soul.

It takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.  It asks questions about your health, family medical history, diet, activity level, and attitude, then determines what your ‘real age’ is… you could end up younger or older than your actual physical continue reading...
