Healthy Humor

There’s no such thing as too much healthy humor.

But sometimes healthy humor seems hard to find.

Healthy humor isn’t waiting for you on your front porch.  You gotta look for it some days, and some days you gotta make it happen.

They say ‘one good, deep down to the belly’ laugh a day is good medicine.

Here are some ideas to take in BIG doses:

Laughter releases endorphins, boosts your immune system, increases blood flow, AND relaxes your body.  It’s great for stress relief and stress management.  And best of all, laughter is FREE!!!!!

A Good Book

I read constantly when I was a kid.  I was a bookworm. School lunches were spent in libraries; weekends were spent in my room.  I was in Narnia or at Nancy Drew’s house every chance I got.

Then I grew up… college, career, family… reading became a luxury for vacations.  I gave my minutes to others and saved none for me.

It’s time to nurture my imagination again, to find a new world or house to venture to, and I’m finding it hard to find a good continue reading...

Funky Glasses

I had very little money when I moved out on my own at 18 years of age.  So little money in fact, that buying GLASSES (so you can drink water, milk, etc.) were OUT OF MY BUDGET.  I had ONE glass, and I needed more than one glass… so my solution?

It worked.  I continue reading...

Catch Up!

How long has it been since you’ve talked with an old friend?

How many times have you told yourself you were going to call them or send them a line?

How many YEARS have you been saying that?

It doesn’t matter how long it’s been… it could be days, months, years… when true friends connect and catch up, time stands still.

Reach out and touch an old friend.  Connect.  Catch Up.  Share a coffee, share a meal.  continue reading...

Stop Comparing

We naturally compare ourselves with the neighbors, and naturally base our success on what we DO or DO NOT have.

It’s tough to stop comparing, but try to stop.  There will ALWAYS be someone that appears happier, thinner, richer, etc.  And it DOESN’T MATTER.

What DOES MATTER is YOU.  Focus on your psyche, your growth, your soul.  Nurture continue reading...
