Under pressure? Feeling tense? Need to relieve some stress but only have a few minutes?
Here are three tension-busting stretches to provide some stress relief. Do one or all when needed, and repeat often, as necessary.
1. Cat-Cow. This is a sitting variation cat-cow that is usually done on all fours. Sit strait in a chair, with both feet planted firmly on the floor. EXHALE as you round your spine (cow) and INHALE and you arch your back into the cat pose. Repeat five or six times, and remember to BREATHE.
2. Twist. Sit strait in a chair, with feet planted firmly on the floor. Bend your arms at your sides. EXHALE and rotate your torso to the right. INHALE and rotate your torso to the left. Repeat five or six times, and remember to BREATHE.
3. Side Stretch. Sit strait in a chair, with both feet planted firmly on the floor. INHALE and raise both arms straight up, brushing your ears. Stretch to the right as you EXHALE. INHALE and return to center. Stretch to the left as you EXHALE. Repeat five or six times, and remember to BREATHE.
You should feel refreshed! Live in Zen.
