I stayed in a hotel once that featured a bath menu.
Yes, a bath menu.
And the bath menu sounded sumptuous…
Chocolate baths.
Herbal baths.
Salt baths.
Rose baths.
Order a bath for a specific time, and the spa staff would come to your room to draw your bath.
I didn’t order a bath. Paying someone else to draw my bath sounded slightly silly at the time… but that menu got my mind noodling about bathing and the ART of bathing… Since then, I have drawn my own baths… rose baths, salt baths, bubble baths… they were decadent and SOooo relaxing.
So in the spirit of exploring the ART of bathing and furthering spa research, I’ve decided to fully immerse myself in baths for 2012, ALL TYPES OF BATHS.
It will be my mission to find unique and exotic baths with a myriad of health benefits, for the mind, body, and soul, and test their effectiveness on ME. I offer myself willingly as the guinea pig (it’s the LEAST I can do). I will whole-heartedly give my MYSELF to the furthering of spa research. :)
As I write this, I’m on a plane to Maui, Hawaii, where the Grand Wailea Resort and Spa in Wailea boasts an impressive hydrotherapy circuit, its use offered ala carte or with any spa service. And members of the Automobile Club (AAA) receive a 10% discount off all services at Spa Grande. I have my spa appointment booked and my AAA card in my carry on bag. Zen on a budget, baby!
Grand Wailea Resort and Spa, I’m on my way… my spa day is within reach!
More to follow…
Live in Zen.
